Welcome to Segar!

I know, I know. Naging ningas kugon ako sa 'daily blog entries' ko since Day 1. To provide a quick summary of our stay so far, RJ and I have promising interviews. Here's to hoping to get hired in the coming days! Katulad sa 'Pinas, long weekend din dito sa Singapore. They held their presidential elections yesterday, and barely a day palang, they have declared the winning candidate. Newly-elected presidentiable Tony Tan will be sworn into office on September 1.

Moved in to Bukit Panjang area (specifically Segar Road) last night. The new house looks perfect! I can safely say that this will be a long-term home. Golda and Julian helped us (a whole lot!) at Ikea, Courts and Giant. First time to ride a Lexus!

Went to Universal Studios with Golda at Sentosa Island last Friday. Sulit! Did the Mummy ride twice. RJ survived Battlestar Galactica. Hurrah! Tomorrow we go to Jurong Bird Park. Or probably just do laps at Villa Marina.

Daddy's email below. Made me go, "Awwww!" Sorry for video's low resolution. Have to keep it that way for faster uploading.

Day 2: RJ's first interview

RJ and I went to his first interview today. We're lining up more schedules starting next week and will be more aggressive in sending out our papers. He's sleeping again and I am doing my best to keep up with these updates. For documentation. Every day is tiring, looking for stuff that we need, places we can go and cheaper flats we can rent. We cannot believe we're here already. Parang panaginip lang. Anyhow, I feel so blessed to be in the midst of other cultures. Sana palarin kami dito. Photos will have to be posted in either facebook or twitter. Effort masyado dito.

Tomorrow we will move to Tampines. Too far and too few places of convenience. RJ and I love it better here in Punggol Central. Easyrommate.com.sg is proving to be very helpful. Hoping to find more better deals nearer to the CBD.

Golda and friend are flying out to Krabi, Thailand tomorrow. We'll be totally lost without her! Hehe! But she's a good teacher. Here's to safe and hassle-free intelligent living without her!

Day 1: Punggol Central

Hello.

RJ and I would like to say, "Welcome to Singapore-lah!"

We had a long, bumpy flight. Golda picked us up at the airport, took us to our first flat and went with us for late lunch and to shop for bare necessities (i.e., towels, food for breakfast, SIM, EZLink for transportation, etc). Tomorrow we will have dinner with her and her boss. RJ is resting as he wasn't able to sleep a wink at all last night.

Got to bond with the father of the landlord and their yaya. Good folks. Tomorrow, RJ will go to his first interview. Will go with him so we can both get familiar with the sites and sounds. We figured, 2 heads are better than just 1.. when getting lost! :)

We are getting all emails, SMS.

That's it for the quick update for now.

Through Thick and Thin

In 2 days, RJ and I are flying out. If things work out for us, we'll be staying there -- for quite some time. To earn enough to launch ng bonggang-bongga our business. Otherwise, we'll still be very happy to come back. Can barely wait to start living a different chapter in our lives.

Over the years, we have become much richer: in love, in faith, and in friends. These 2 girls are very close to our hearts, especially mine, as they are a big part of me. Never would I be the person I am right now if not for them. I'd like to call them as my sisters, but that would be awkward-sounding and super cheesy. Basta they are me and I am them.

To Denise and Cess, we love you. From the bottom of our hearts.

Ugandan "Kill the Gays" Bill

Dear beloved family and friends,

The past week has been rough on me due to work and other stressful matters. I thought this week couldn't be worse. But this morning, I saw on twitter a rather disturbing post: the Ugandan "Kill the Gays" Bill.

Shock and eventually anger came over me. But more than anger, what seriously concerns me is the fact that when we are claiming ever-so-ironically how more liberal we are now (or so maybe it's just me being silly), we still live in a world where people kill other people just for being themselves. I think I really do have to consider myself lucky now, now that if I tell people I'm gay, I won't get murdered... or maybe I'm just being silly again?

Heck, I'm in hell now. What difference does it make?

And so I just signed a petition demanding that Ugandan President Musevini veto the "Kill The Gays" bill should it be passed in Parliament.

We just learned the “kill the gays” bill - a death sentence for LGBT people in Uganda - could come up for a vote in the next 48 hours if we don’t act now.

Conservative leaders are trying hard to push the bill forward before th
e millions like us who oppose it have a chance to speak o
ut. If we can create a massive international outcry, theres a chance to stop this bill from becoming law.

This hateful bill appears to be a political diversion, a way to distract from the legitimate grievances of pro-democracy activists, who have been beaten, teargassed, jailed, and even killed in recent weeks.

There are only days left to make sure your voice is heard. Will you join me in demanding the Ugandan President Musevini veto the "Kill The Gays" bill should it be passed in Parliament? Sign and share this urgent petition:

Tiresome and tiring as OUR case may be, I live on to another day to fight.

What To Do: Watch Events this May at Pergola (Pulilan, Bulacan)

Apologies for the very long absence! But 2GG is back--and we're here to make your life more colorful, more exciting & more gay!

Powpow & I have been to two beach vacations thus far this summer: Puerto Gaylera and somewhere in Bataan. We spent the Holy Week in the city, and it was very meaningful--we observed (most of) the rites.

My favorite was the three-hour-long Easter Vigil, which was very dramatic and theatrical--the church was covered in darkness, and the lights weren't turned on until that part announcing Jesus Christ's resurrection. We also joined the procession last Good Friday, where we circled Pag-Asa on foot and Powpow kept having problems with his candle.

It's May already, and here's an article about events to be held in Pergola this month. Don't miss them if you live near Pulilan, Bulacan!

May Events Extravaganza at Pergola

This May, Plaza Pergola Restobar & Coffee Shop hosts exciting events that everyone will surely enjoy.

On May 8 (Sunday), boxing fans and sports enthusiasts can watch the much-awaited fight of the year, with Pergola's live telecast of the Pacquiao-Mosley World Welterweight Championship at MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The highly-anticipated bout features two boxing champs at the top of their form. Rated as the "number one" pound-for-pound best boxer in the world, Manny Pacquiao is an eight-division world champion and the first boxer in history to win ten world titles. He was named "Fighter of the Decade" by the Boxing Writers Association of America, and is currently a member of the Philippines' House of Representatives, as Congressman of Sarangani.

Born in California, "Sugar Shane" Mosley has won world titles in three weight divisions. He has never been knocked out in his entire professional boxing career. His challenge of Pacquiao's welterweight crown will surely electrify Pergola, as guests and spectators are treated to this heart-pumping showdown.

Tickets are now available, PhP400 for the VIP room access inclusive of breakfast buffet (8AM to 10AM), PhP350 for the fine dining section, and PhP300 for the stage area.

Then on May 27 (Friday), comedy takes centerstage as Allan K performs at Pergola. The popular TV host, singer and comedian is expected to bring the house down in his hilarious musical comedy show, back-to-back with Betty & Osang.

A co-host in Eat Bulaga since 1995, Allan K has also appeared in various TV shows of GMA-7 like Banda Oke, All Star K, The One Million Videoke Challenge, 1 for 3 and Beh Bote Nga. His newest TV show, Comedy Bar, is co-hosted with comedienne Eugene Domingo.
Tickets to this non-stop fun and laughter extravaganza are priced at PhP300 only.

Pergola is Bulacan's favorite dining destination, events venue and entertainment center. It is located at the Pulilan Junction, D.R.T. Highway, Pulilan, Bulacan. For inquiries and reservations, please call (044) 676.0307 or 0923.702.5663. You can also like Pergola on Facebook: www.facebook.com/pergolabulacan.

Quick Post

Have you ever thought about dying? I have. Lots of times. Different scenarios.

I've been feeling depressed for the past couple of weeks and now I am sick. Now I think to myself, maybe I've had so much fun and love in my life and it's time for me to go. My body is rotting, slowly dying and I am about to fade away. Good thing nothing scares me now except paghihirap ng loved ones, families and friends.

Reconnecting with old girlfriends from school and keeping each other's spirits up. After all, we'll be all that we have when we're out of PI.

Prepping stuff before running to a meeting in Ortigas Center. Hoping to get leave office early to catch the family med doctor at the mall where I go for consultation and check-up these days. My lab tests are due to come out late this afternoon. Praying that everything's fine with me. Been observing my body for the past couple of days. UTI has been ruled out. Blood in my urine sounds bad, I know, but I'm still hopeful that it won't be as worse as I think it is.

Happy birthday to my breastfriend, Golda, who's in Singapore-lah!

Where To Go: Pergola (Pulilan, Bulacan)

Well, well, well...Look do we have here? ("-")

It seems that someone has been monopolizing this awesome gayness thingamabob. I couldn't blame you, Powpow. I don't think blogging is codified in my DNA. I am, admittedly, too lazy to blog and I prefer the more passive role as a lurker--which Wikipedia defines as "a person who reads discussions on a message board, newsgroup, chatroom, file sharing or other interactive system, but rarely or never participates actively". Guilty as charged, your honor. But the reason behind this will be the subject of another post.

For the meantime, here is the real reason why I am making my rare appearance: V!gor Ideas is promoting Pergola, Bulacan's favorite restobar, events venue & entertainment center. The article is below. Do drop by if you're in the area, dahlings. Ciao for now and have a wonderful weekend!

Pergola: Bulacan's Favorite Restobar, Events Venue & Entertainment Center

Families who want to feast on delicious international cuisine, friends and colleagues who need to unwind and sing or listen to live music, couples who wish to have a memorable date--all flock to Plaza Pergola Restobar & Coffee Shop, which has emerged to become Bulacan's favorite dining destination, events venue and entertainment center.

Food Lover's Paradise

Located in Pulilan, Bulacan, Pergola, as the place is popularly known, provides a wide variety of food and entertainment options for those who want to enjoy and celebrate. To begin with, the restaurant's mouth-watering menu features Japanese, Chinese, Italian and Filipino cuisine--a food lover's paradise where every craving is satisfied.

For starters, guests can nibble on Gambas, California Maki, Tuna Kilawin, and other scrumptious appetizers. Delectable main courses at Pergola are plenty, including Beef Salpicao, Crispy Pata, T-bone Steak, Prawn Thermidor, among many others. The restaurant also serves fantastic noodles and pasta, such as its house specialty Seafood Pasta ala Gracia, Crab Linguini and Fettucini Alfredo. Pizza fans will be delighted by Pergola’s unique fusion pizzas—Teriyaki Pizza, Sisig Pizza, Menudo Pizza, as well as its traditional flavors such as Pepperoni Pizza, Supreme Delight Pizza, Pepperoni Pizza, Ham Bacon & Cheese Pizza and many more. Pergola is truly the ideal dining destination for lunch, snacks and dinner.

Exciting Entertainment Options

More than luscious food, Pergola also offers exciting entertainment options for people who want to groove to the music and have fun. This summer, Pergola presents its featured band Cueshé, performing hit songs on April 1 at Bulacan's favorite venue for concerts and shows. Cueshé's #1 songs include "Stay", "Sorry", "Ulan" and "Can’t Let You Go", and they have remained very popular as an alternative and pop-rock group in the country.

Aside from Cueshé, stellar bands and artists such as Calla Lily, Brownman Revival and Duncan Ramos have headlined shows and gigs at Pergola. For those who want to laugh out loud, comedians Wally and Jose, Kim Idol and Ate Gay have tickled the funny bone of Pergola’s audience. Acoustic bands also perform every night, regaling guests with a mix of upbeat and mellow melodies. For groups who want to party and display their vocal prowess, Pergola has three modern KTV rooms, each with a high-definition LCD TV and digital sound system. Those who want to enjoy and have a good time with family and friends will really find everything in Pergola!

Venue for Special Events

In addition to its wide array of food and entertainment options, Pergola has also become a preferred venue for weddings, baptisms, reunions and other special events. With its large capacity and resort ambience, it is the perfect setting for any special occasion, as well as corporate meetings, seminars and workshops.

Pergola offers packages for catering and banquet services. Its central location in Pulilan is easy for guests to find, with prominent landmarks such as Robinson's Supermarket nearby.

Indeed, Pergola is Bulacan's favourite spot in every aspect, fulfilling the Filipino passion for eating, celebrating and having a great time.

Plaza Pergola Restobar & Coffee Shop is located at the Pulilan Junction, D.R.T. Highway, Pulilan, Bulacan. For inquiries and reservations, please call (044) 676.0307 or 0923.702.5663.

Okay. So the Japayuki Siblings are back home safe and sound. They're here for a week and will play it by ear when it would be safe to go back. Kuya's working at the office in Taguig and ate from their home in Cavite. Glad to have talked to them this morning while I was en route to office. Told them this is not something that'll blow over by the end of a week or a couple of months. Hope their bosses find it in their hearts to let them stay and work from here. #prayforjapan!!!

Slept past 3AM. Now doing half day at work which sucks. Browsed thru numerous youtube videos which are worth forgetting. I should get myself sleeping pills.

Got to chat with a former classmate who's been in SG for 2 years now and I must say, she's really lucky at work. FB (Facebook) Engineer daw siya as her workload is not that heavy and she mostly has her time on her hands, which, to state the obvious, she spends living in FB world.

I have my upcoming weekends full: this weekend will be spent manning our garage sale booth at Edmund's to raise funds for choir activities, next weekend will be with the Tender Team + Friends and Families in Morong, Bataan and after that, with Awit Panalangin Choir in Puerto Galera.

I reckon paopi RJ is enjoying being his own boss and on top of our projects. Please LIKE Touch of Grace Spa & Wellness Center in FB and FOLLOW touchofgrace in twitter.com. Lots of awesome promos for one and every all! Do you want a FREE massage? JOIN our contest!

Celebrated Bonnet Babe/Bitch Denise's 28th last Sunday at Centris with Cess+Reniel and someone-who-cannot-be-named-at-the-time-being. RJ was MIA.

Been feeling frustrated and depressed the whole of last week. I had to force my ass to get out of bed. :( Hope everything goes smoothly for me now.

Seen: The Adjustment Bureau

Met up with RJ, Melai, Gina and Dennison. Got introduced to Arvin. Another mediterranean dinner tonight, this time at Cyma. Had quick coffee before the last full show in TriNoma. Matt Damon played a soft role with a strong character. Emily Blunt is another great actress! Good thing she can dance, too! RJ and I simply adore her. Glad that Melai thought the same of the movie. :) Happy that she's more relaxed now and enjoying every time I spend with her. Would have slept over at RJ's tonight but there's a big need for me to be home tonight, to keep my folks updated about the situation of my siblings in Japan. Let's all pray for everyone's safety. We really ought to have emergency bags everywhere.

Thank God we're still alive.

Japan-Japan, Sagot sa Kahirapan

Currently in constant communication with siblings in Japan. Thank God for facebook, twitter and BB! Phone lines are down at the moment and it's a miracle that these social networks are still up and running somehow. Please advise friends and families to prepare for hard times especially those living along the east coast of the Philippines. Other countries in the Pacific Ocean are supposed to expect tsunamis with huge waves at approximately 5:55PM (Manila).

Please pray for everybody's safety in Japan.

LISTEN TO: Adele's 21 Album

English singer-songwriter Adele has done it again! We just can't get enough of her second album, 21. The first 3 tracks will easily make me want to go drag and perform in front of people.

I say her singing is so heartful, it makes me think deeply and lets me write my most profound sentiments, especially the track, "Someone Like You."

I feel as if she's black, blonde and asian combined.

See: PETA's CARE DIVAS

I fell in love with the theater when I was a kid. And since then, I've been an avid fan of PETA's productions, most especially when my cousin Buddy Caramat is in them! When I leave the PETA-Phinma Theater Center with my friends, I'm always proud and I leave the premises in deep thought, my emotions stirred within me. This particular production, CARE DIVAS, spoke to me. I guess there's nothing new with that, as PETA's productions are always relevant.

Care Divas, PETA's newest musical comedy-drama, opens February 4

In the Philippine Educational Theater Association’s (PETA) latest musical comedy-drama titled “Care Divas,” five transvestite overseas workers travel to the historic land of Israel in the time of the intifada (the Palestinian uprising against Israeli occupation), bringing with them the unique brand of warm Pinoy nurturing to care for elderly Jews.

Every day, they wash, feed and entertain their employers as loving caregivers. Come nighttime, the five whip out their make-up and sky-high heels to perform as glamorous drag queens in a Tel Aviv club.

The day after, they go back to playing the role of caregiver, once again tending to the aged Jews who depend on them for food, human connection and survival.

At the core of the story is Chelsea (Melvin Lee), who seems to have it all--blessed with a kind employer who teaches him Hebrew and a potential lover who accepts him for what he is. Shai (Vincent De Jesus) the leader of the group, is always haunted by the image of his mother who rejected him for his sexuality. The two are joined by Kayla (Jerald Napoles), Thalia (Dudz Teraña, Jason Barcial) and Jonee (Phil Noble, Buddy Caramat) who also release their creativity through performing.

The five strive to adapt to Israeli culture. Their Filipino tongues struggle to learn Hebrew while silently battling the orthodox view on gays. They are always alert, constantly fearing deportation and war.

Armed by their aspirations (and their pointed stilettos), their true spirits and creativity shine through in their performances. They dream of becoming big-time divas while encountering problems along the way. But it is through their journey that they are able to share the valuable experiences and friendships that bind strangers like them in a strange land.

The creative team behind “Care Divas” includes acclaimed writer Liza Magtoto, multi-awarded composer Vincent De Jesus, prolific director Maribel Legarda, costume designer John Abul, events and theater lighting designer Jon Jon Villareal, visual artist and award-winning set designer Leo Abaya and contemporary dancer and choreographer Carlon Matobato.

The cast includes some of the biggest and brightest theater and television actors today: Melvin Lee, Vincent De Jesus, Ricci Chan, Jerald Napoles, Phil Noble, Buddy Caramat, Dudz Teraña, Jason Barcial, Cecilia Garrucho, Paul Holme, Myke Solomon, Angeli Bayani, Eric Dela Cruz and Dom Miclat-Jansen.

“Care Divas” runs at the PETA Theater Center every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 10 A.M. and 3 P.M., February 4-March 13, 2011. For inquiries and ticket reservations, contact PETA Marketing and Public Relations Office 7256244, 4100821 or 0917-5644233. E-mail petatheater@gmail.com.

The First Post

Good evening, everyone!

Welcome to our home, www.2gayguys.blogspot.com! Like what it says at the top bar, this is going to be where we will put our thoughts and sentiments on things worthy and not of our time and yours, too! :) To introduce the writers of this blog, we are 2 gay guys, each of who is 1/2 of the happy couple that we are. Our hope and intention is to spread love through the future pieces that shall be posted in the coming days.

RJ Dela Peña

Mornings, he tumbles out of sleep, out of bed, springing into the choreography of six o'clock.

RJ is known to the PR and marketing communications worlds as Igor. But in this blog, he shall be referred to as Paopi, Boiby Boy and other mushy names as thought of by his hubby, Rac.

Paopi, having recently become a freelancer, now enjoys more time on his hands and hopes to get back to his writing. He is dubbed as "the bitch in the relationship" by their common friends.

Paopi is Rac's trainer in yoga and throwing tantrums.

Rac Roldan

I am, without a doubt, the man of your dreams.

I'm young and fresh and the world is out there for me to conquer. Someday in the future, I would like to take a look back in my life and tell myself, "dude, you did good. you're cool."

Rac is a civil engineer and Paopi's dakilang assistant in their rakets. He enjoys watching videos of MadTV, Happy Slip and MirandaSings.

Rac will be known as Paopao, huppy, puppy, etc.
