Ugandan "Kill the Gays" Bill

Dear beloved family and friends,

The past week has been rough on me due to work and other stressful matters. I thought this week couldn't be worse. But this morning, I saw on twitter a rather disturbing post: the Ugandan "Kill the Gays" Bill.

Shock and eventually anger came over me. But more than anger, what seriously concerns me is the fact that when we are claiming ever-so-ironically how more liberal we are now (or so maybe it's just me being silly), we still live in a world where people kill other people just for being themselves. I think I really do have to consider myself lucky now, now that if I tell people I'm gay, I won't get murdered... or maybe I'm just being silly again?

Heck, I'm in hell now. What difference does it make?

And so I just signed a petition demanding that Ugandan President Musevini veto the "Kill The Gays" bill should it be passed in Parliament.

We just learned the “kill the gays” bill - a death sentence for LGBT people in Uganda - could come up for a vote in the next 48 hours if we don’t act now.

Conservative leaders are trying hard to push the bill forward before th
e millions like us who oppose it have a chance to speak o
ut. If we can create a massive international outcry, theres a chance to stop this bill from becoming law.

This hateful bill appears to be a political diversion, a way to distract from the legitimate grievances of pro-democracy activists, who have been beaten, teargassed, jailed, and even killed in recent weeks.

There are only days left to make sure your voice is heard. Will you join me in demanding the Ugandan President Musevini veto the "Kill The Gays" bill should it be passed in Parliament? Sign and share this urgent petition:

Tiresome and tiring as OUR case may be, I live on to another day to fight.

What To Do: Watch Events this May at Pergola (Pulilan, Bulacan)

Apologies for the very long absence! But 2GG is back--and we're here to make your life more colorful, more exciting & more gay!

Powpow & I have been to two beach vacations thus far this summer: Puerto Gaylera and somewhere in Bataan. We spent the Holy Week in the city, and it was very meaningful--we observed (most of) the rites.

My favorite was the three-hour-long Easter Vigil, which was very dramatic and theatrical--the church was covered in darkness, and the lights weren't turned on until that part announcing Jesus Christ's resurrection. We also joined the procession last Good Friday, where we circled Pag-Asa on foot and Powpow kept having problems with his candle.

It's May already, and here's an article about events to be held in Pergola this month. Don't miss them if you live near Pulilan, Bulacan!

May Events Extravaganza at Pergola

This May, Plaza Pergola Restobar & Coffee Shop hosts exciting events that everyone will surely enjoy.

On May 8 (Sunday), boxing fans and sports enthusiasts can watch the much-awaited fight of the year, with Pergola's live telecast of the Pacquiao-Mosley World Welterweight Championship at MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The highly-anticipated bout features two boxing champs at the top of their form. Rated as the "number one" pound-for-pound best boxer in the world, Manny Pacquiao is an eight-division world champion and the first boxer in history to win ten world titles. He was named "Fighter of the Decade" by the Boxing Writers Association of America, and is currently a member of the Philippines' House of Representatives, as Congressman of Sarangani.

Born in California, "Sugar Shane" Mosley has won world titles in three weight divisions. He has never been knocked out in his entire professional boxing career. His challenge of Pacquiao's welterweight crown will surely electrify Pergola, as guests and spectators are treated to this heart-pumping showdown.

Tickets are now available, PhP400 for the VIP room access inclusive of breakfast buffet (8AM to 10AM), PhP350 for the fine dining section, and PhP300 for the stage area.

Then on May 27 (Friday), comedy takes centerstage as Allan K performs at Pergola. The popular TV host, singer and comedian is expected to bring the house down in his hilarious musical comedy show, back-to-back with Betty & Osang.

A co-host in Eat Bulaga since 1995, Allan K has also appeared in various TV shows of GMA-7 like Banda Oke, All Star K, The One Million Videoke Challenge, 1 for 3 and Beh Bote Nga. His newest TV show, Comedy Bar, is co-hosted with comedienne Eugene Domingo.
Tickets to this non-stop fun and laughter extravaganza are priced at PhP300 only.

Pergola is Bulacan's favorite dining destination, events venue and entertainment center. It is located at the Pulilan Junction, D.R.T. Highway, Pulilan, Bulacan.
